Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has called for the spirit of self-help in the country to compliment the efforts of Government in developing the country.
He made the statement when he commissioned a New District Assembly and District Education Office Blocks at Asiwa in the Bosome Freho District of the Ashanti Region.
He said government will work closely with the traditional authorities in order to bring development to the people. They should therefore support government in its development agenda for the country.
Mr Amissah-Arthur said government considers the area as a very important priority and it will continue invest substantially in the area as a way of securing the future of the country.
The Vice President said the District Assembly Common Fund has become the only source for Assembly's to rely on and it’s adequate, so government would find ways and means of shoring up development, hence the need to revive the communal spirit in order to compliment the efforts of government.
The Vice President used the occasion to introduce the NDC Parliamentary candidate for the area Kwame Adarkwa. Mr Amissah Arthur said continuity is key, so in order for government to continue with projects that it has already started, the NDC must be retained,
The Vice President further stated that compared to some years ago, when the NDC party left office the government that took over discontinued with all projects started under the NDC. He said the NDC has a tradition that believes in continuity because governance is a continuous process.
Mr Amissah-Arthur said a former president has stated that the four years in government is not enough, hence the need to give it another look. Vice President Amissah-Arthur added that it further explains why continuity is key.
He said the Mahama administration has good policies and programmes for the overall development of the country. The people and the traditional authorities must therefore support President Mahama to continue with the implementation of these policies and programmes.
He said continuity in government will enable President Mahama to complete the projects and programmes he has rolled out and begin new ones for the benefit of all Ghanaians.
On his part Barima Akwasi Okotwasuo the Omanhene of the Kokofu Traditional Area thanked the NDC government for providing the area with its fair share of development and critical needs of the people thereby improving their living conditions.
He used the occasion to praise the NDC candidate for the area for his neutrality in working as the District Chief Executive of the area. He also called for the spirit of communalism in order to compliment the efforts of government.

An old adage goes like this *if you Dont have anything good to say, please Dont say anything* some of these comments prior to mine has no bearing on what took place. The chiefs and people appreciate what was done and that should be the end of the story. Freedom of speech has limitations and must be respected
jonathan, its wrong for you to insult your president as a ***barred word***,god will not even forgive you for this.this behaviour of your is of the stoneage.abaa.have you not read in the bible that, we respect our leaders?politics is not hatred,if the god of all knowing who appoints leaders for his people feels our current leadership has disappointed him i think, he god ,has his own way of judging them.so please be a gentleman and stop throwing insults at your leaders, god forbids that.
Paa kwesi why in black even mahama who has lost his mom recently will never dress like this to a big faction abaaa fante nyi paa ne eguwanyim ase papa
this veep is a full. I am convinced that Ghana needs a change in leadership. We have to vote for Nana Addo. ghana will be doomed if we let incompetent mahama continue.
Thanks and no thanks. Ashantis are not fo*ls to endorse hardship and ste*ling. They will never vote for corruption and they know the money is not from your pockets. Nkurasefuo, since I was born in Ghana I've never seen a government official opening projects than these primitive ndc, it all started from Rawlings time, commissioning toilet and bathrooms. In this modern world who does this? Send them away, they are driving the country far back. NDC will lose, there is nothing to save them. 44.96% that's for the ndc.
