Beleaguered NPP Member of Parliament for Bantama, Henry Kwabena Kokofu, has pledged absolute support for Nana Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party.
Hon. Kokofu on Friday, September 30, filed his nomination to contest in the Parliamentary elections as an independent candidate.
His decision took the NPP aback with followers of the Danquah-Busia tradition expressing utter shock as well.
Hon. Kokofu was defeated in the party's Parliamentary primaries by his opponent, Daniel Aboagye.
Speaking on Peace FM's Kokrokoo, Hon. Kokofu, who has withdrawn his independent candidature, stated emphatically that only "death" would separate him from the NPP.
According to him, he owes complete allegiance to the party's flagbearer, Nana Addo.
“Only death can take me away from my course… I’m ditching Nana Akufo Addo to follow who? It shall never be. It can never happen,” he stressed.
He further asked members and supporters of the party who were affected by the sudden news of him running as independent candidate to take heart and rally behind Nana Addo for victory in the December polls.
