Supporters of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) clashed in the Odododiodioo constituency in Accra on Tuesday (October 11) night.
According to reports, the fight was triggered when the NDC, after a rally at Odododiodoo, marched through the streets of the constituency to a place called Blue Gate, a stronghold of the NPP.
The NPP supporters hooted at the NDC supporters as they filed past. Later on, some NDC macho men returned to the place and attacked supporters of the NPP who were hooting at them.
The Police were called to restore peace in the area. No casualty was recorded.
However, there are fears that tension will escalate in the area again on Saturday October 15 because the NPP’s parliamentary aspirant of the constituency will launch his campaign on that day.
