The acting General Secretary of the New Patriotic party (NPP), John Boadu says President John Dramani Mahama’s request to debate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has added up to numerous invitations flooded his desk for a similar event ahead of December 7, elections.
But he noted that, his flagbearer is focused on his campaign rather than debate his political opponents, mainly, the incumbent president.
“We have better things doing. I have received numerous requests for debate from radio stations among others, but we will not let that distract us from our campaign. The NDC ignored the major presidential debate so why are they calling for one now?” he questioned.
President John Mahama has been in the news recently calling on the NPP flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo to come and debate him publicly on the issues affecting the nation.
President Mahama reiterated his calls for a debate with Nana Akufo-Addo, saying it would afford both parties an opportunity to set the record straight on a number of issues including the state of the economy.
President Mahama suggested that the NPP was simply misinforming the electorate with propaganda and his challenge would ensure a statistics based debate on the economy.
However, John Boadu in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show, ‘Ghana Montie’ noted that, his flagbearer will not be preoccupied by President Mahama’s call.
“We will not waste our time on him [President Mahama]. We are on the grounds campaigning,” he told host Kwesi Aboagye.

All those who are here calling for debates. I think it will be more useful to Ghanaians if Mr.Mahama can have one his meet the press program to respond to the so called lies he is accusing Nana Addo of. Infact it will do him a lot of good if he can take that opportunity also to set the records straight as he would want us to believe on Bawumia 170 points in his state of nation lecture because those are the real economic issues that needs to be addressed. my humble submission.
Am curious- should Nana Addo laugh in all his pictures? Or that makes him look younger? just asking oooo.
AS FOR U JOHN BOADU U ARE A LOST VAPOUR IN UR SO CALLED NANAS PEOPLE PARTY .AKPETESHIE AG.SECRETARY .ROT IN THE BOTTLES OF TOMBOLQUORS
You see what incompetence has done to Mahama. The NDC arrogantly snobbed IEA debate. The all of a sudden, Mahama wants a debate with Akufo Addo. The arrogance of a dying politician still at play. What about the other presidential candidates? If Akufo Addo is not giving out correct information about the economy, it is your duty as the president and government to tell all of us what the actual tro tell usabout the true state of the economy.uth is. I don't think you need a debate on this. If you wantcredibility for your campaign, tell us like you did with the IMF. We wil surely understand you. I think Akufo Addo and the NPP should continue with their laid down programme in order to maintain and/or increase their momentum. Mahama, please, debate JOYand CPP t

the fact is the old man (nana addo) cant stand mahama for debate, simple
dont mind that man he is confused. govt in power calling for debate after turning down an invitation to partake in one initially. now seeing defeat staring at him and the popularity of Nana, he is looking for cheap popularity. who wants to debate an incompetent man. a leader who can not read information in front of him neither will he listen to ple(such as Dr Bawumia) who reads it to him. what points is he going to use for his debate? this man is not only incompetent but also lazy and it will be a waste of time to accept this us3l3ss for debate by this man. well how many Ghanaians even understand the issues to follow the debate? he (mahama) just want to distract Nana Addo and the NPP. u dont need a debate to tell us why you are incompetent. if it is soo important to him he can debate amissah-arthur or asiedu nketia.
Ah, I find it difficult to understand some commentators on this platform. They say Nana Addo is telling lies about the economy and the Mahama administration that's why he (nana) is running away from a debate. Really? If this economy is good for you, must it take someone to tell you it is bad? In fact if i have money in my pocket, how can someone tell me my money is a tissue paper and believe him if i'm SANE? Pls, for you rented biased people, go and tell your people: This election is not about talk talk oo....I have done this, i have done that which has to take talkertive men to point them out.....tell them the election is about the "feelings' of the people.... that is why with the soo many talks and adverts, the gov't is finding it difficult to get the attention of the people. in fact, how can i pat ***barred word*** attention to listen to achievements when i am hungry, or when my sister's school fees for this term has become a burden.. Yoo...you sit there! Mahama and his people shall surely TASTE the ANGER of the Ghanaian voters paaa...it wil be a historic DEFEAT!
