One of three persons who were jailed for threatening the lives of judges in the country, Godwin Ako Gunn has stated that the governing NDC is not ready to relinquish power.
Godwin Ako Gunn, Alistair Nelson and Salifu Maase were convicted on the charges of scandalizing the court, defying and lowering the authority of the court and bringing it into disrepute and senteced to a four-month jail term.
But President John Dramani Mahama remitted the sentences of the three a month later.
Speaking at the campaign launch of the NDC's candidate for the Tema Central constituency, Ebi Bright, Godwin Ako Gunn said the NDC would only leave power 'when it is tired'.
" ...when NDC is in power, no party can move NDC out of power. When NDC is tired we leave power but 2016 we are not tired....we are not ready to leave power" Ako Gunn said to a charged crowd at Tema on Sunday.

Because Ghana belongs to you people you leave power when ever you want, just wait and see change is really coming
fire burn ur mouth n family, akogun or whatever his gyimicious wife call him.we dare you in december.....confused ppl
Stop tickling yourselves...u go lose cheap
I dare you to try it if NPP wins. An ex-convict who wouldn't change from his old ways. Anyway, let's see what happens you ***barred word***
Ako kwasiaa, you think say Ghana belongs to your ***barred word*** party, am a card bearing member of the NDC, massa this year me and my family all voting for change, we just have to accept defeat and strategized back our party, we got 2 much akronfourr in our midst. enko yiee korasaa.
But seriously is the NPP going to change Nana Addo in 2020 elections should he wins this election? Because Nana in 8yrs will be approaching 81 years and I don't know of any right thinking person who would like to force such a person to do the number 1 tedious work in Ghana. For God sake this is Ghana not Zimbabwe. Madam Georgina Wood, 69 years was born on June 8, 1947 which means she attains the ripe old age of wisdom -70 in June 2017, hence her hint of exiting the position of the fourth highest arm of government. It's therefore intriguing that Nana who is 72+years and currently has life threatening issues will want to at all cost become president of our youthful Ghana. I think Nana should find another job after failing to become president for over 20yrs. I will recommend he open an NGO to train people on how to organise demonstrations and how to engage in violent acts.. #RetireNana@72 #Agenda2020 #NoAbabas3 #UsainBoltVictory #JMTOASO
NDC. Aaaaaaaba. what is wrong with us. Why do we allow some people to spew such garbage and bring us back ten steps after we force to take a step. What was the wisdom in what this guy said at the program? You are given the chance to at least redeem yourself and this is all what you could say. Hmmmm
