Ben Dotsei Malor, a former Communications Advisor to President John Dramani Mahama, has asked the Akufo-Addo government to bring officials of the past government who embezzled state monies while in office to book.
According to him, corruption in any form can be deadly, hence the need to punish culprits in the previous administration to deter government officials from going down that path.
Mr Malor, responding to a comment posted by ace blogger Kwame Gyan on his Facebook page on Tuesday May 23, said society must desist from defending corrupt officials since graft is suicidal.
He wrote: “Anyone who stole Ghana's money in the NDC administration must be called to account. Money stolen from the people must be returned to the people. Corruption in any form and by anyone is deadly in the long run to our people and disastrous for our quest to achieve rapid progress.
“We must shed light on these matters and expose what is wrong so that what is right can thrive. This should serve as a deterrent to those in positions of authority today.
“We – as a society – must also desist from promoting, defending, and honouring criminals, thieves, and robbers, just because they appear to share some of their loot with manipulated minds and unprincipled goons.
“We must shift that honour to those working tirelessly to resist corruption and evil and those striving every day in countless sacrificial ways to make Ghana truly great.”

IT IS BAD JOURNALISM FOR YOU TO TAKE SOMETHING FROM SOMEONES PAGE AND USE IT THIS WAY. YES ITS A PUBLIC PAGE BUT ITS STILL WRONG. ITS NOT FOR EVERYONES CONSUMPTIONS. ITS FOR THOSE WHO ARE ON HIS PAGE.
My brother, i have assumed a new level of respect for you.
CORRUPTION IS NOT A PARTISAN ISSUE Yesterday, in response to a Facebook post by Kwame Gyan, that suggested that wrong-doers from the NDC administration were being shielded or defended by some people I wrote to object, and stated on his Facebook thread that nobody was getting shielded. “Anyone who stole Ghana's money in the NDC administration must be called to account,” I said. “ Money stolen from the people must be returned to the people.” I added that a similar yardstick should apply to anyone in the NPP found to have stolen Ghana’s money. “Same applies to every member of the NPP, as well as any other public officials or individuals who enriched themselves through fraudulent, criminal, and avaricious means.” It is really interesting to see these sentiments turned into a top news story by Class FM (and others) with a twisted call for the Government of Ghana to “punish ***barred word*** in Mahama administration”. It is rare for sub-comments of this nature, in response to a Facebook posting, to get turned into news in this manner. I accept that anything we share on Social Media cannot be private but be considered public. However, there is an odious scent of journalistic mischief, malpractice, or desperation when a sub-comment on Facebook is easily manipulated into a top news story. We can all agree that corruption is a serious bane that can do terrible damage to our nation. Let us be united in keeping the focus on preventing corruption – no matter what political parties we support. Let us all resolve to address corruption boldly, squarely, and fearlessly, plus lawfully, wherever it is found and proven. Let this be a patriotic pursuit and not a partisan propaganda ploy. May God bless our homeland Ghana; And make our nation truly great and strong. ....Ben Dotsei Malor
This man has said it all. Therefore Nana Addo and his government must act and bring those who have stolen from the nation's coffers brought to justice. This man knows what he is saying because he has been in the ndc party for some time. If the npp fails to act then it means they will also do the same and if this happens Ghanaians will rise and act for their country so take note NPP.
this should be a bipartisan consensus. one person who is allowing ethics that's the bone of western countries to play out in his books. It would have been great to see him embark on this during his time with the Mahama government, but sometimes it is a crusade to fight from the inside.well done Ben and i hope folks in Nana's govt follow suit and call out any nation wreckers.
I have never commented on a post but am extremely touched by your submission....if all of us will think and act this way,Ghana, our country, would have been a better place no matter your party affiliation
Ben has lived for years in the western civilised world where some of the things that goes on here in Ghana CANNOT be mentioned let alone allowed to occur under the guis of politics or tradition. It therefore come as as no surprise that he stands by principles, values and accountability, the very values that underpin the prosperity in Europe and most of Western democracies. It is time for Ghanaians as a whole to join this call and make corruption and crime punishable and unacceptable in our society and not merely because a politician is in our party or from my tribe. Thanks Ben.
