A Parish Priest of the Christ the King Church, in Accra, Rev. Father Andrew Campbell, has congratulated the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on some of the policy decisions he has taken since assuming office on 7th January, 2017, and urged him not to be disillusioned by his critics.
Congratulating President Akufo-Addo on the implementation of the Free Senior High School Policy, Rev. Father Andrew Campbell indicated that “as people involved in providing support to several needy children to get education, we are well placed to assess the impact of such a transformative policy on most families in Ghana, and also offer some comment.”
He continued, “Please, do not be disillusioned by your critics and the implementation difficulties you will encounter. Sir, you are on the right path and do have our full support.”
Rev. Father Campbell made this known on Wednesday, 3rd January, 2018, when he paid a courtesy call on President Akufo-Addo, at the Flagstaff House.
Touching on the President’s decision and action on illegal mining, popularly referred to as galamsey, Father Andrew Campbell acknowledged that though a very difficult decision to take, President Akufo-Addo has managed to implement it, and deserves commendation.
“Please see it to the very end, which includes restoring degraded environment, including the water bodies and the vegetation, and facilitating the young ones involved to get skills training and sustainable employment. Importantly, make sure that Ghana never experiences this menace again by enforcing rules and regulations without fear or favour,” he added.
Rev. Father Campbell also congratulated the President on programmes such as Planting for Food and Jobs, and the 1-District-1-Factory initiative, adding that “we are very interested in these programmes because of their employment generation potential, especially for our youth”.
The Parish Priest urged the President not to relent in his resolve to eliminate indiscipline, especially bribery and corruption from Ghanaian culture.
“We urge you not to look at persons, positions, relations and status in enforcing rules and regulations. This is the only way that the habit of discipline will be built. Additionally, Sir, as you punish wrong doing, try to reward right or honest behaviour, especially in public office. This, we believe, is a sure path to bringing about change.
“The change that Ghana needs, in our view, is about each and every Ghanaian behaving differently, and starting with those in leadership. We are solidly behind you.”

NUNO, those perished were because of the free SHS eeeeh! You see how shallow minded and wicked ndc is that's why ndc will keep long in opposition NUNO, I'm putting g it to you that it was the work of the ndc that perished those students. Ndc used chemical to gas those students just to kill them and make the free SHS unpopular thinking that will help them come back to power to steal and show ndc vindictive attitude but it will take you over 40 years before. Every Ghanaian knows it was the handiwork of the ndc, why has it stopped? because ndc has been exposed and their unpopularity is still on course, 318 press conferences hasn't changed nothing so ndc next agenda was to gas free SHS students and use that against the government but it didn't work either. Nothing will work for you than to change from loud mouth to being citizens but not spectators according to ndc former deputy A-G. Mo b3ka nokware! Naniaaaaaama!

All religious believers: If we believe there is a maker of this universe then, with our destiny in our hands and the visionary President Nana Addo, at the helm of affairs; Let Begin the New Year with Hope. “Hope is the virtue of a heart that doesn’t lock itself into darkness, that doesn’t dwell on the past, does not simply get by in the present, but is able to see a tomorrow. Hope is the door that opens onto the future. Hope is a humble, hidden seed of life that, with time, will develop into a large tree... A tiny flicker of light that feeds on hope is enough to shatter the shield of darkness. A single individual is enough for hope to exist, and that individual can be you.” – Pope Francis –
It is morally right for everyone to have education and be part of the national development movement. But, this should be done in a way that can be beneficial to the nation. Now, people can't afford to send their children to the secondary education so government has to step in and do it for them. My question is, who is going to pay for all this people to have a higher education? I think if we aren't making the high education free, then we are bound to fail. That means about 75% of this people will again end up doing nothing. And that all the money spent on them will be wasted. I would have suggested we instead focusing more on technical education. Let's spend this money on creation of more technical institutions. This will give people the opportunity to create their own jobs even if they don't get higher education when they finish the medium one. This Father doesn't know nothing, he is also following the crowd

You're right bro. Please Fr. Campbell how much did you pay before being allowed to see the President? It will be interesting to know the amount/ fee charged since the brouhaha so some of us can budget in advance.
Can someone please tell us how much the Priest paid to get audience from the President? Thanks
Did the President think of inviting or visiting the facilities of Apostle Kwadwo Safo?Apostle Safo a Ghanaian has invented Kantanka cars for Ghana, has built schools and developed the potential of many Ghanaian youth.Apostle and the good work and image is giving the country is known by many abroad in case you dont know.I met a Moroccan in Europe who has the photo of Apostle Safo and his Kantanka cars on his phone screen. What has this priest contributed to the development of Ghana personally from his own pocket? The priest is sitting on millions of money which is not his own and overseeing perhaps the construction of some kvip toilets in some villages and supporting the education of some children in schools that are built or funded by the money of his parish and these are peanuts compared to what Apostle Safo is doing for our nation. But of course, the current generation of Ghanaian and Afrikan leaders who have more than their fair share of inferiority complex would rather like to be seen shaking hands with the obroni even for nothing. I supported you Mr President when you were in opposition and you started well when you tackled the gamlamsey issue head on.But things are happening now so fast under your leadership that makes me feel quite uneasy. One shocking example to me is that your ambassador to South Afrika with his unpatriotic, divisive and tribalistic statement is still at post.I am not criticising you yet, I am not going to send an article to the media yet but I am watching and hoping things will get better and better under your leadership from 2018 onwards.I supported your leadership from opposition to the start even though I am a die hard Nkrumaist and I have good reasons why I believed in you.And for now I still believe that you will bring about the positve change that I had anticipated in your expeirenced and elderly leadership.
What is your problem? Do you mean these students who have been covered by the free SHS were just going to end up or should be at the JSS level? Just because some can afford it does not mean others were born not to advance to the the next level of education, else most Northerners would have been illiterates.
