A former NDC Member of Parliament for the Akwatia Constituency in the Eastern Region says his new found profession is more “enjoyable” and “interesting” compared to being a lawmaker.
According to Baba Jamal who is now a practicing lawyer, the court room is more ‘interactive’ than the Parliament House – hence, he is not considering a return to the August House anytime soon.
“Since I started practicing as a lawyer officially, I am so happy in the courtroom than Parliament House. Although I miss the place [Parliament house] I enjoy the courtroom more in terms of work and freedom to speak.
“ . . There are more opportunities and time to talk in the courtroom, Parliament is more restricted. So it’s more interesting in the courtroom,” the former NDC MP said in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.
Three years ago, Baba Jamal was called to the bar - his journey started in 2006 when he enrolled on the Bachelor of Laws program at the University of Ghana.
He told NEAT FM’s morning show host, Kwesi Aboagye that - the journey to become a lawyer has been his long time ambition, “It has not been easy.”
To him, his quest now is to be the National Organizer of his party to ensure a victory for the ‘Umbrella’ family in the 2020 election.
