When you lose elections while you are in power ( and with that big margin ) it means that the people have rejected you, after you have been tried and tested.
That is why a Mahama comeback cannot be justified!
Remember when professor Mills lost the 2000 elections ? Although he was the Vice President then and was not the guy calling the shots in government, Ghanaians saw the opportunity to ditch the NDC with Rawlings safely out of the picture ( yes in 1996 there was still a big element of fear of Rawlings hanging in the air , it was just too early for change )! Then look at how long it took NDC to come back to power ? Not in 2004 but in 2008! NDC had to rebrand its image and leadership style. And granted the late professor humbly fitted into the new image and was well complimented by John Mahama as running mate.
The buga buga image of JJ was replaced by a softer, gentle, and level headed personality in the good Professor. But much has changed today. The humble God fearing Mills was too weak and sick in office to make a meaningful impact and when JM came into the leadership role after the death of the professor he was out of depth , meek and completely unprepared for the job!
All these indications point to a very weak challenge from JM in 2020, NDC is better off with a new face as leader, a candidate who will not carry all the burdens of the Mahama presidency ( corruption and incompetence), It will be a fresh start and a new hope for the party as they go forward battling NPP.
A replacement of Mahama should not be difficult at all! I remember during the 2008 elections how Goosie Tanoh was well respected among the high ranking members in the party, and he chaired one or two committees formed to strategize and formulate policies for that campaign! Also my interaction with the Reform part boys showed me their level of depth. If you also add his long running experience with the revolutionary cadres you will further value his weight and significance in the party!
As for the argument against NDC members who left the party and came back is not a strong one and falls to the ground , considering that for all of us Ghana should come first before any party or ideological bias!

Bro you are 100 percent right, JM will loose heavly.
Korku, who are the greedy men? you can take it or leave it NPP is more loved by Ghanaians than the ndc, take your 31/2 regions and think ndc is Ghana party and 2020 you will see your smoothness level. Ghanaians ain't f000*00ls to vote for the ndc for you Korku to benefit for them to suffer. Look at the geographical atmosphere and see how the 2016 voting went and you think you can convince us to vote for mahama we have voted against and sent away? you think we are ***barred word***? that is what Dr Sekou Nkrumah is telling him and the ndc to bring somebody different to rebrand the ndc. There us nothing mahama can do to convince those who oted against him to vote for him, it is a fruitless mission he is embarking! Ghanaians will never give him another chance. He is not credible and very greedy!
Ghanaians are not ***barred word*** as the NPP AND THE SEC AND BOG THINK.... we are fully aware that the government does not care about the consequences of what they have done to Nduom.... Many Ghanaians depended on Nduom and Menzgold etc to feed our families all this while... Till we were deceived by the NPP to vote for them to come and turn our fortunes around.. Little did we know that NPP will stab us in the back with some bogus implementation of wicked policies in the books..... NOW npp has power to kill steal and destroy... But 2020 our time will surely come to exercise our thumb power.... Certainly we would be extremely stupiiiiiiiidddddd not to punish this npp by voting very massively against the npp and making conscious effort for millions people to vote for the ndc... FREE CAMPAIGN FOR THE NDC... AS FOR THE NPP this is the last time they are enjoying this publicity... By 2020 ELECTIONS NPP will know that YOU DON'T STEP ON A ***barred word***'S BALLS TWICE at all... They are going to sniff pepper paaa..... You npp are shamelessly chopping our cash but you've restricted others from earning a decent livelihood....... Everybody affected by the npp vindictiveness should automatically start campaigning very vigorously and subtly for the ndc and against npp immensely and immediately..... Let the SEC AND BOG staff come out in their numbers to vote for the npp in 2020.... NOW people who were earning something every three months from gold Coast securities are going to hurt very very badly because of this wicked npp policy..... Arise Ghanaians arise.... Arise opposition ndc arise..... Let's kick this npp government away in 2020....
i think John Mahama is still not prepared for the country. we enjoyed darkness when oil revenue were just beginning to flow in. sad. Agricultural growth was negative. i cant believe it. is youthful JM serious.
Dr. Sekou have never gotten anything right. You were fired from the National Youth Authority and since then you are afraid to be fired. What is your State of life now??? Even the unborn babies knows very well that if you are afraid of failure in life you will never succeed. Always against everything and bitter too!
INCOMPETENT IN BED AND IN MANAGING AFFAIRS...MAHAMA NA LIE U GO GET 11.11%
