Former President John Dramani Mahama says education will be a major pillar in the 2020
manifesto of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Mr Mahama says the upcoming manifesto will deal with the challenges facing the education
sector, with particular emphasis on resolving challenges of the Double Track Senior High School system.
Mr Mahama said this on Monday when he addressed delegates of the NDC in Hohoe in the
Hohoe Constituency as part of his campaign tour of the Volta Region and students of the St.
Francis College of Education besieged the meeting to express their frustrations with
developments on the education front.
He told the trainee teachers that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) failed to tell the truth to
students of Colleges of Education and now reality has caught up with them in government over
the issue of allowance.
Mr Mahama questioned the rational for students of Colleges of Education being subjected to
write licensure examinations and national service, after doing one-year practical teaching as
part of their course.
On the upcoming flagbearership elections slated for February 23, 2018, Mr Mahama urged the
delegates to vote for him, adding that the NDC cannot afford to fail Ghanaians in election 2020

Major pillar indeed, when you could not pay for feeding grants to schools in the North, You could not pay for the small school uniforms and sandals you claimed you supplied and could not pay for even school feeding grant before leaving office in 2016. You think Ghanaians are like your fuuuulll soldiers? or have short memories. Even NHIS that subscribers pay to renew you left 1.2m cedis unpaid. How can you leave sharing of V8 and paying dubious judgement debts to finance the SHS That is FREEE. You have started preparing the minds of Ghanaians that NPP has spoiled the education in Ghana so that when you eventually collapse it you will put it on NPP.
Very funny. Hahaha
All of you are stuiipiiiidy for condemning Mahama because your devil and devilish is in power so everything cover your brain and you can not reason well, continue one day the reality will catch up with us all, period
Mahama is just dancing around NPP manifesto because he have no clue. ***barred word*** man
I hope you won't go and copy verbatim, the NPP manifesto in 2020. In 2016, you struggled hard to get a copy of the NPP manifesto. When you didn't get it, you had no message for the people. Even in your present situation you don't have a message. You just play around the policies of the NPP. You can be original fr once for people to take you serious.
Hahahahaha. Let Mahama tickle himself and laugh. He has nothing good to offer and therefore keeps thinking of reviewing Akuffo Addo's programmes and visions. He should go to the railway sector and see the work Akuffo Addo is doing over there. shaaaaame unto the NDC
After 8 years what again. Your manifesto since 2009 could't address problems in Education. Deceiver
Now your manifesto will no longer be 'Ede bee keke'. Thank God you have learnt a lesson.
Is this man really serious. The double track system is a temporal measure to ensure that all Ghanaian citizens are given equal opportunity to attended secondary schools irrespective of their parent's economic standard. By 2020, most of these schools will have improved infrastructure, and the double track system will be off. So what are you going to do again if by 2020 there is no double track system.
mahama. you need to think before you speak. im told the double truck was just immediate solution to tackle the huge number of fresh students and the minister said the double truck will end this september. so im asking jm, without the double truck, what vision do you have for ghana again?...
