A Member of the Communication team of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Anim Piesie has debunked reports that former President John Mahama said election 2016 was rigged.
Monday’s edition of the Daily Guide newspaper reported that the former President while speaking at the Oxford University Said Business School Distinguished Speaker Seminar organized in collaboration with the African Studies Centre and the Oxford Africa Business Alliance, said the election which led to his defeat in 2016 was rigged.
Mr. Mahama narrated that the rigging process was facilitated through “the use of IT in results transmission and possibility of hacking.”
However, Anim Piesie after reading what the former President actually said, indicated that it “seems President Mahama has become a thorn in the flesh of the NPP” and that is why they are twisting his words.
According to him, the former President only sought to find out what had happened to the electronic transmission which the Electoral Commission (EC) at the time said was compromised.
"President Mahama has said nothing wrong,” he emphasized.

Very interesting posture. As an outsider looking in, it appears that the former president is convinced that he will loose the 2020 elections therefore from now on use subliminal messages and sound bites to prepare his followers and the nation for his impending loss. After the elections he will claim that he lost because the electronic transmission system was compromised. This might even be followed by spurious and frivolous court action which will lead no where. You are about 18 months away from elections and still you have no positive message for the electorate except still harping on about what happened in 2016, this means disaster waiting to happen.
You guys are a confused lot. Kofi Adam in agreeing with the ex-President says the elections were "heavily rigged". The reasons you give for Mahamah's loss are too many. You will lose again if you don't get the reason why he lost in 2016.
This man has never spoken anything sensible. Where did he school? I wonder if he thinks before he talk.
I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT AT THIS STERN AGE A SO-CALLED COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR WILL STEP FORWARD WITH THIS TWISTED EXPLANATION OR SUMMARY IN DEFENSE OF WHAT THIS PAST INCOMPETENT AND ***barred word*** JOHN MAHAMA. TAKE YOUR ***barred word*** AWAY BECAUSE WE ARE NOT AT THE POINT IN TIME WHEN OUR SOURCES OF INFORMATION USED TO BE THE STATE MEDIA LIKE DAILY GRAPHIC AND GHANAIAN TIMES....
Masa his point is that the 2016 was rigged. Then Charllote Osei did you and the country a great deservice.
