The Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Jnr., has criticized Chief Justice, Sophia Akuffo and the General Legal Council over recent happenings within the law school.
The GLC which is chaired by the Chief Justice has come under intense criticism in recent times following the failure of hundreds of students to gain admission into the Ghana School of Law.
The issue of access to legal education has been topical in Ghana following the yearly mass failure recorded after the entrance examinations. This has resulted in many legal brains accusing the Council of deliberately setting out to deny students access to legal education by failing a large number of them.
Not even demonstrations by students to register their displeasure over the way their legal education is handled, resulted in any positive feedback.
The General Legal Council (GLC) on Monday summoned the General Manager of ABC Television, to appear before one of its Committees over his interview regarding the recent Law School exam.
The media entity had an interview with Kwaku Ansa Asare, a former Director of the Ghana School of Law where he is quoted to have said: “The General Legal Council is abusing the trust the nation has reposed in them. It was time they are told in plain language that they should stop the nonsense because what is going on is nonsensical. I can’t understand. As a former director of the law school, I have got to say it nakedly as it is. What they are doing is unbecoming and it is time they stopped."
Expressing his view on the mass failure recorded at the School yearly, he accused the GLC of "perpetrating fraud and deliberately limiting the number of students to be admitted into the law school."
His remarks seem not to have gone down well with the GLC, which has directed ABC Television to appear before it with the full footage of the interview conducted with Mr Ansah-Asare.
Speaking to this on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo' Kweku Baako said: "the General Legal Council and the Chief Justice; I think they are just creating unnecessary problems for the country; it's mind-boggling... What the chief justice is saying about mass production and so on they have created their own distortion; I think it's wrong".

Bombie paaaaaaaaa.Fire you fire so?Hahahahah
THIS BEHAVIOUR FROM THE CHIEF JUSTICE HAS INFORMED ME VERY MUCH THAT THERE IS NO WAY I AND I REPEAT , I WILL EVER VOTE A WOMAN AS PRESIDENT IN THIS COUNTRY. I HAVE WORKED UNDER TWO LADIES IN ALL MY CARRIER AND THE TORTURE I RECEIVED FROM THEM ITS MORE THAN THE SEVEN (7) MALE HEADS I HAVE EVER WORKED UNDER. WOMEN ARE SUPPOSED TO BE THE SYMBOL OF LOVE, BUT I TELL YOU MOST SOLEMNLY THAT MOST WOMEN ARE VERY DIFFICULT TO BE OR WORK UNDER THEM WHEN THEY GET POST. THE FEW THAT WANT TO BE GOOD CAN ACTUALLY BE ANGELS. IT IS NOT SURPRISING THAT THIS LADY, THE CHIEF JUSTICE, IS BEHAVING LIKE THE DECENDANT OF THE GREAT LUCIFER.
Ayala, the Chief Justice is has no vision. She is just leading an organisation that is defrauding unsuspecting students. That's all.
The JC doesn't know the meaning of mass production. She equates mass production to substandard production which is wrong. Cars, soft drinks, shoes, electronics etc. are all mass produced but they are not substandard. Mass production means producing a standardised item in large quantities. It is according to set standards and quality is not compromised. We can mass produce doctors if we have space in our medical schools. We are currently mass producing nurses and teachers. All this is done according to set curricular.
