"We constitute the majority and there’s no doubt about it . . . even the NDC side has accepted that they are in the minority unless they are in denial," says Frank Annor Dompreh.
This follows the official indication from Fomena Independent candidate that he will be doing business with the NPP side in Parliament.
In a letter dated 13th January 2021, he said, “I Andrew Asiamah, an Independent Member of Parliament for Fomena Constituency and now the 2nd Deputy Speaker for same Parliament do hereby declare that , I shall, for purposes of transacting business in the House associate myself with the NPP caucus in the Eight Parliament. For the avoidance of doubt, I do hereby affirm that I shall cooperate and collaborate with the NPP Caucus in the Eight Parliament.”
According to Frank Annor Dompreh, this brings finality to the debate.
"The Speaker was waiting for an official letter from the Fomena MP which according to him will settle the issue as to who is the majority. So now the case is settled," he said in an interview on Peace FM morning show 'Kokrokoo'
Fomena MP Commended
Meanwhile, he has commended the Fomena MP for not turning them away when they approached him to align with the NPP.
"He didn’t make our work difficult when we had to approach him to sit with the NPP. He said he is and will always be with the NPP," he added.
