Governance lecturer at the Central University, Benjamin Otchere-Ankrah has questioned the ratio of female Deputy Minister nominees to males appointed by President Nana Akufo-Addo.
President Nana Akufo-Addo has released a list of his Deputy Ministers-designate to assist the Ministers in various Ministries.
The nominees are yet to be vetted and approved by the Appointments Committee of Parliament.
Speaking on Peace FM's ''Kokrokoo'', Dr. Benjamin Otchere-Ankrah stated that the number of female Deputy Minister appointees as compared to the males is eighteen (18) to sixty-eight (68).
He appealed to the President to increase the females saying, ''my bias is that the President should have increased the number of female Deputy Minister nominees . . . The number of women is eighteen (18) out of eighty-six (86). If the President had made it thirty (30), it would have been better. When you take women like Ursula, Adwoa Safo, Cecilia Abena Dapaah among others, they performed better".
