Private Legal Practitioner Lawyer Gary Nimako Marfo has blamed former President John Mahama for deliberately trying to twist the results of the 2020 general elections.
According to him, he is systematically doing that to cover up his abysmal performance in the elections and again give false hope to his followers.
Speaking on Okay FM's 'Ade Akye Abia' program, he wondered why former president John Mahama even now has the courage to speak when he could not provide any tangible evidence in court to defend his rigging claims.
"John Mahama claimed to have won the 2020 presidential elections but when he went to court he changed his claim to nobody won the elections and even with that he could not even prove his case.
"We all know that the 2020 elections was free and fair and the hard-working President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo won convincingly," he said.
He noted that former president Mahama will continue to live in wonderland and keep deceiving his supporters that he won the 2020 presidential elections when he has nothing to show for it.
"And for me, that is a mark of a desperate leader," he added.

Mahama disagrees with Jean Mensa over credibility of election 2020
John Dramani Mahama, the former President of Ghana, has refuted claims by Jean Mensa, the EC Chairperson, that the just-ended election 2020 was credible.
Addressing the Divisional Chief of Prestea Himan, Nana Nteboah Prah, as part of his Thank You tour of the Western Region, the former President noted that, the EC Chairperson should have mounted the witness box during the election petition to prove that the elections were credible.
Mahama indicated that the EC Chairperson’s inability to mount the witness box shows that the election was not credible as she contended.
“The manner in which the Supreme Court dismissed our election petition was not fair. An election petition case has been heard in this country before. When Nana Akufo-Addo sent his 2012 election petition case to court, it was accepted. Afari Gyan responded to his questions, but when it got to our turn…we were not allowed to ask our questions. In 2012, Asiedu Nketiah was asked to testify. In 2020, he was called again to testify. In 2012, Afari Gyan was asked to mount the witness box.
“But in 2020, when Jean Mensa was asked to mount the witness box, she refused. I heard her saying the other time that the 2020 election is the best election Ghana has ever had. If she is convinced that it is the best election Ghana has ever had, she should have mounted the witness box,” he said.
John Mahama was accompanied on his “Thank You” tour of the Western Region by Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, his running mate for the 2020 polls, and the General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah and other key officers of the NDC.

John Mahama may have his negatives as a president. Unfortunately the current NPP government under Akuffo Addo is making Mahama more popular. From every indication NPP is in government but the NDC is in control. What is happening in parliament bears testimony to that. The NPP government looks confused in their management of the economy. Every body is complaining, workers, traders, farmers, drivers, beggars, the haves, the have nots etc. Even die hard NPP supporters are not laughing. Under Kufuor we saw a vibrant NPP for 8 years to the extent that after Kufuor the NPP nearly ruled for 12 years because in the first round of voting in 2008 then candidate Akuffo Addo had 49% in the first round. It means NPP was still the preferred choice of Ghanaians after 8 years. Can same be said today, if yes, fine. If NO, why. I like NPP but not under the Akuffo Addo kind of leadership.
BUT WHY THE EC FAILED TO MOUNT THE WITNESS BOX, NOW THEY DO NOT EVEN BELIEVE IN THE SUPREME COURT, BUT THE POLICE. WHAT A SHAME
It is a pity that former President Mahama had not grown out of his position as once a President of Ghana. His consistent baseless challenging of the integrity of the electoral commission is just too silly deemed to come from a former President. The NDC should learn to discard inciting and insisting on lies and propaganda as the strategic tool to win an election. All these demeanor and deceit are born out of desperation and lack of political message. I believe Ghanaians had bought into the ideals of democracy, and with time had credibly improved the electoral processes. And our EC is one of the best in Africa in terms of competence and credibility. Therefore, any insinuated falsehood and repetition of the same cannot taint its good image before the informed electorates. Hence, the blatant attempt to discredit the EC becomes counterproductive.
