Abraham Boadi, aka 'Opooman', a former Presiding Member of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), who is a avowed supporter of Alan Kyerematen, wants the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to suspend Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie, the Member of Parliament for Effiduase-Asokore for allegedly dabbling in tribal politics and flouting the directives of the party.
Speaking in an interview on Neat FM's Me Man Nti programme, Opooman said "Dr. Afriyie should be suspended for engaging in dangerous tribal politics which is against the 1992 constitution. This can result in chaos...you're bringing religious and tribal conflicts but unfortunately he has not been called to order"

Alan is the best person to lead the Npp....... how can we make bawamia the flag bearer of the party.....someone who have not contested even a polling station election before as our presidential candidate never...... it is Alan’s time......Alan nie .... industrialization nie.........if I don’t have job there is no need me having a bank account
I would advise the NPP supporters coming from Alan's camp not to push Alan to repeat the mistakes he made by contesting Akufo-Addo. I don't want to overstate the fact that Alan hasn't done enough research to know if he has a chance of beating Vice President Bawumia in the NPP primaries. There is no doubt that Alan is a hard-working, competent politician. Nevertheless, he lacks the ability to test the waters and strategize for his own support for political expediency. There is no way he can beat the Vice President in the primaries, because the Vice President has performed remarkably and he has won the hearts of many Ghanaian electorates, and that cuts across the NPP and NDC-arena. And that makes it very difficult for Alan to match him. However, Alan has a favorable situation to strategically partner with Bawumia to set the 16-year term so that they can both reap the harvest of their hard work programs, namely, 1D1F, planting for food, FSHS, digitalization, and what have you, which might have begun to mature by then. This would undoubtedly be a huge success for the electorate to extend the mandate of the NPP-administration hands down. Alan must, therefore, this time show clear sacrifice and teamwork. Furthermore, whether you like it or not, aside from Bawumia, the Vice President's hard work, he has an upper hand on Alan because of the fact that he is the incumbent vice president who is overtly competent and intelligent. That is not to be underestimated in our part of the world. Otherwise, you allow the bigots to play the tribal card with it..
The Issue between Alan and Bawumia is a struggle between Industrilization and digitization. It is characteristically a shift of global paradigm. Alan believes in Industrilization to create jobs. He is poised to promote Africa inter-regional trade. Bawumia is inclined to institutionalize digitization as a tool to reduce crime, weed out corruption and block leakages in the Ghana economy. One might ask of which of the two is relevant to Ghana situation. The answer is that we need the two for the progress of the nation. Ghanaians need to listen to Alan and Bawumia patiently and impatially to understand and contribute to the debate. They should sell their visions to convince the nation. We may end up buying both yet, we shall still need to determine which should become the priority. We need people with brains to identify and lead the discussion. Unfortunately the media is filled with the commentaries of people who have no idea of issue reducimg the debate to political lineage, and ethnic and regional permutation.
