Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as COKA, an Ashanti Regional chairman hopeful has called on the rank and file of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) to embrace change as they gear up to elect new leadership to steer the affairs of the party ahead of election 2024.
According to him, Pride, arrogance and selfishness which has taken the Centre stage in the management of the party in the region has caused them and believes the time for change is now.
“One "mansm" has cost us a lot. We have lost so many people from within and without the region over the past 4 years. Why should this be so? We need all on board. Can we do something different? He queried.
In a Facebook post he writes
“Since the days of our forefathers, when N.P.P. was formed in 1992, no single person in Ashanti Region N.P.P. did it alone or took credit for himself alone. Be it chairman Dr Herry Opoku, chairman Donkor Fordjour, chairman F.F. Anto and chairman Yaw Amankwah.
They all joined forces together to achieve the goals of our party. That is what we knew, and what l was groomed to understand. No one person can lift Ashanti NPP on his own. It's about time we realised how our foundation in the NPP over the past few years has been weakened by a selfish few in the region. Leadership has literally been reduced to ridicule.
One "mansm" has cost us a lot. We have lost so many people from within and without the region over the past 4 years. Why should this be so? We need all on board. Can we do something different?
Ashanti deserves a better deal than where we find ourselves! With God on our side, and all on board, together we shall restore our lost dignity, build up the necessary confidence and instill a sense of belonging in all. .
Together we shall break the 8. God is our only hope.
The regional Chairmanship race in the Ashanti region is gathering steam as contesting candidates have began both traditional and social media engagements.

Proverbs 11:2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. (NIV) Your humility and honesty will take you far. Victory is not far from you
Togetherness, restoration of lost dignity, confidence and a sense of belonging. You are absolutely right. This is what we need to mass up for victory for us all especially NPP leadership at the front of Ashanti Region. COKA on my mind. #Mindfixed4COKA
Well said Chairman. All your efforts to recapture the lost glory for Ashanti NPP will surely materialize. It is your kind we need now. Indeed you care. #COKAFOR22
It’s time the leaders of the party up their game so that victory will be ours come 2024 and COKA is the best man to lead the NPP’s strong hold. COKA ! HE CARES!
Well said incoming Regional chairman, one man no chop! The party is for all not few people. COKA bɛba.
Excellently put. If the Centre cannot hold anymore change must happen. Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah is the difference Ashanti Region needs To Break The 8 #COKAB3BA #COKA_ICARE #COKA4ARC
You couldn’t have said it any better Chairman, our party is so down in the region because of onemasm, we have followed the party from childhood and it hurts to see how the party is run in the region currently. No one is bigger and can be bigger than Ash NPP. We need you Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah to come to our rescue. You were groomed by some of our great elders and you saw how they did it. May God grant you victory.
Well spoken chairman, Ashanti region is the heart of our great party and anything that affects the party negatively in the region invariably affects the party nationwide. A stronger NPP in Ashanti region is the only means by which the party can beat the 8. We need a leader who is strategic team player with vast experience at the grassroot level who listens and motivates his followers to lead the party into the next elections. COKA have what it takes to lead us to victory.
Well said, however what you are saying is not peculiar to the Ashanti region alone, it cuts across almost all the regions where political appointees and party executives are behaving as if NPP staged a coup to come to power. The amazing thing is that the ' pride is an empty one. Where lies your pride if you are a political appointee and can't win the very polling station where you vote for your party. Where lies your pride if you were appointed a minister or deputy for 4 years with all the resources at your disposal you still lose your parliamentary seat. How come that a party in opposition could win 169 seats out of 275 only to come to power for the seats to reduce to 137. If you have one of these 3 things and yet you are not popular among your own people, blame yourself ie wealth, king/chief and socially advantaged position. The current NPP leadership seems not to know that the times have changed. If it's about education, wealth/ riches, beautiful/ handsome, social standing majority of political appointees don't come near these areas so why then will you be proud. Some of the NPP appointees have soon forgotten that they live with the people so they know who you were before becoming minister, MMDCE or CEO. If i knew you as someone who couldn't even afford a motorcycle, a tenant in someone's house or staying in a single room or chamber/hall in your family house, how can you misbehave in front of people on becoming a minister or DCE. You know the people know you, why won't you humble yourself, if you think you are rich, put as many cedi notes in the ballot box on Election Day, they will be rejected out right, so respect and listen to the common man and woman in the streets, they hold the key to your political success. NPP should better be careful if not 2024 would be a disaster, yoooo
