Sad, a party in opposition (NPP) with little or no resources compared to the ruling party (NDC) secured majority votes of 169 out of a total of 275 and won the presidential election in 2016. Now having won power and dictating the pace in parliament for 4 years, same NPP with same voters had it's seats in parliament dropping from 169 to 137 same as the minority NDC but for the independent member for fomena who decided to go with the NPP to form a slim majority of difference 1 to the extent that a seriously sick NPP MP had to be transported in an ambulance from his sick bed to enable NPP meet the numbers needed to pass a bill into law. The unfortunate thing is that the current NPP leadership seems not to care because their behavior towards their own supporters supports this claim. If you are a minister, deputy minister, CEO, MP, presidential staffer with no child of your own who is 18 years and above, the legal age for one to qualify to vote in Ghana and you keep chanting ' break the 8' , who's 18 year old son or daughter are you counting on to ' break the 8'? That man or woman NPP supporter who looks too low in your eyes may have his own biological children who are all voters, so show him or her some respect because you need his or her children's vote to enable you enjoy at their expense. Unfortunately the some current NPP appointees are behaving like they came to power through a coup de etat especially the young ones who are getting what their getting for the first time in their lives. If current happenings in parliament is not enough wake up call, then they will never learn, yooooo. 7 December, 2024 will come and it will come.
