Former Central Regional Minister, Kwamena Duncan, has urged the National Security Minister, Albert Kan-Dapaah to ensure that operation "see something say something" won't turn into just sloganeering.

The Ministry for National Security a few days ago launched a citizens' awareness campaign dubbed: "See something, say something" aimed at protecting the country against terrorist attacks.

The campaign aims at encouraging the public to be vigilant and report suspicious characters and activities to the security agencies.

As part of the campaign, a toll-free number — 999 — has been provided for citizens to swiftly report suspicious activities to state security authorities or use the emergency contacts and social media platforms of the Ghana Police Service to draw the attention of state agencies to unusual activities within their communities.

Kwamena Duncan reacting to this on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo' said response to the calls should not be lackadaisical.

"We commend the National security architecture . . . but the most important thing is it shouldn't just be sloganeering. The infrastructure must be there . . . the response should be swift; it shouldn't be that complaints are made and there is no response," he urged.
