Member of Parliament for Kwadaso, Dr. Kingsley Nyarko says Ghanaians should be grateful to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his government for the social interventions introduced to improve their living conditions.
According to him, the President cannot be entirely blamed for the economic challenges as Ghana is not the only country in a meltdown.
He noted that Ghana would have been doing exceptionally well if not for the Coronavirus pandemic and now the Ukraine/Russia war which, to him, have badly affected the economy.
However, the President is relentless in restoring the economy, therefore, Dr. Kingsley Nyarko appealed to Ghanaians to appreciate the President's good works knowing that he is doing his best to make life better for them.
"Ghanaians should bear with this government because the government is doing everything possible for us to progress...Ghanaians should bear with us. Nana Akufo-Addo is capable. The government is capable. What we are experiencing is temporal and the government is doing everything to bring us back to the pre-pandemic levels", he pleaded.
He also asked the citizens not to lose sight of the bad governance by the previous John Mahama regime where life of hardship was unbearable for them.
"During the time that we slept in darkness for so many years, show me a single intervention that government brought to cushion us. There was inactivity. There was inertia on the part of that government...But at least we have done something. In the midst of the pain and hardship, you know government is doing something to soothe the pain of the people. So, for me, this is a clear difference", he said.
Dr. Kingsley Nyarko made these comments on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" Wednesday morning.

Honourable, hear this, it's because of Mahama's bad governance we voted massively for the NPP to come to power. So you don't need to remind us about Mahama, i strongly believe that if elections were held today between John Mahama and Akuffo Addo, bet me, Mahama will win hands down. I have been voting for the NPP since 1996 but this current NPP is the the direct opposite of the kufour one. Kufour had a skill of moving party and government together, Akuffo Addo is lacking in that skill. 2024 is not going to be easy. Akuffo Addo would have made history for himself from what we heard about him but his syle of leadership makes one believe he was overrated. Simple reshuffle he can't do 5 years running, this one you don't need parliamentary approval. Roads, finance, trade, transport, interior, foreign affairs, agriculture, health, national security, same ministers. What new ideas can they bring again. Opposition party with little resources secures 169 out of 275, four years in power with all the resources same party, same voters, the seats dropped from 169 to 137 with some being challenged, something is definitely wrong. We saw cabinet ministers and deputy ministers with all the resources at their disposal falling like logs in the parliamentary elections. An elephant with very big ears unfortunately it doesn't listen, at best it hears but won't listen. This is definitely not the NPP we saw under kufour, No.
