Kwamena Duncan, former Central Regional Minister, says Ex-President John Dramani Mahama's revelation that he only recieves monthly pension is an absolute falsehood.
In an interview on TV3 on Monday, September 12, John Mahama stated that he has been taking care of his own expenses including those covered under his emoluments as an ex-Head of State.
“I receive only my monthly pension, like President Kufuor or President Rawlings was receiving until he died. That is all I get.
“I pay the electricity bill for my house, for my office. I pay the water bill for my house and my office. I live in my own accommodation so the state does not pay me anything for accommodation.
“They haven’t given me an office, I rent an office in East Cantonments, I pay the rent myself, I pay for my own fuel, the state doesn’t give me fuel. I pay my own domestic staff, I pay my own medical bills. I pay for my own air tickets when I travel,” he said on TV3.
But Kwamena Duncan says the former President is lying because he has been receiving other benefits aside his monthly pension from the State.
He disclosed on Peace FM's Wednesday edition of "Kokrokoo" that the Statesman has received cars comprising a brand new Mercedes Benz registered this year, two Land Cruisers and other vehicles as well as his travel costs covered by State.
"The man tells us that apart from his pension, in fact, he bears the cost of travels and all of those when it is a palpable lie; absolute falsehood! . . . If he tells you that except my monthly pension, nothing else is done for me, what does that mean? It means that for vehicles, I'm not getting vehicles. If it were travels, I'm not being supported in my travels. It it were this, even payment, except monthly salary or monthly pension. This is pure deception," he said.
To him, John Mahama has become desperate for power but cautioned Ghanaians stating "if there was anybody that this country had to be firm and build a solid Chinese wall between power and that individual is President Mahama. He must not have the least chance to corridor of power".
"He is become so desperate that there is a certain four-year term hanging there, I need to have it just for the sake of it that I have become President again . . . Ask yourself, what is President Mahama capable of doing? What can he do to change our fate?", he admonished the citizenry.

Mahama has been the biggest beneficiary of Ghanaian taxes yet he is still not satisfied. From Assembly man to an ex president but he still wants to be president again while campaigning with the retirement benefits. This is an opportunity for us to amend our constitution so that we don’t continue to pay ex gratia for ex presidents and at the same time pay them and their workers huge salaries and allowances every month. This is insane.
YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED FOR SPILLING THIS LIES TO THE PUBLIC. IF YOU ARE SAYING THIS WHAT SHOULD THE TEACHERS, NURSES, FACTORY WORKERS, MORTUARY WORKERS SAY, DOCTORS, DRIVERS, FARMERS ....... SHAME
Hahahaaaa, from 1996 to 2016 you were an MP , to a deputy minister, to substantive minister , to Vice President and then president. All these years (20 years ) it's the Ghanaian tax payer who took care of your salaries, electricity and water bills, your accommodation, your fuel, travel expenses, your transportation, medical bills, your food, clothing. Today having left office you are complaining about paying your electricity and water bills? Hmmmnnn. Are you aware your primary one teacher who may be on pension now is still paying same bills from his or her meager pension? In Ghana the president doesn't pay tax, so who's taxes should be used to pay all these for you? So for all these years you have everything free, you don't pity the people who's taxes paid for all these when you were in these positions and you want more. The poor teacher, nurse, civil servant all have their meager salaries taxed heavily at the end of every month and they still have to pay for all these things you are enjoying for free from their pesewa salaries. Why do you want to eat with both hands, why?
This John Ford Mahama guy is very greedy paaaaaaa. Remember you will not take any of the stolen wealth to your grave.
Kwamena the comedian, why don't you list the items with proof?
