Former Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for Klotey Korley Constituency, Mr. Nii Noi Nortey has appealed to the youth to ignore the promises by former President John Dramani Mahama stressing he has nothing better to offer Ghanaians.
According to Mr. Nii Noi Nortey, choosing Mr. Mahama is not only scary but also empty.
“Any time Mahama is talking you could see how desperate he is…He is soo desperate that he can even insult without thinking. He does not have a single solution to the country's problems. Mahama is just desperate to rule the country again, hence his penchant for making false claims of having all the answers to the country’s problems. Was it not under Mahama Ghana faced multiple problems like Dumsor collapsing numerous businesses, poor infrastructure and the likes.”
Speaking at TESCON general meeting at Accra Technical University College, Mr. Nii Noi added; “We want to hear something new and different from John Mahama. we want to hear him say he will do tertiary education free, we want to hear he will take care of our children right from birth to 18 years, we want to hear him say he will take full medical bill of our aged mothers and fathers...we want to hear something new and different ideas from him and not always trying to rubbished someones good initiatives.”
He asked Mr. Mahama and the NDC to mention a single social intervention they have made for Ghanaians.
“Why I’m I saying this, because anytime NPP is in power we come up with soo many social intertions namely, Female Maternal Care for our pregnant mothers, NHIS for free medical care, Free SHS and more.”
“The incompetence of Mr Mahama rather eroded the gains made by the erstwhile Kufuor government, thereby worsening the plight of the people. In the midst of the challenge, we are still constructing roads, building schools, paying nursing and teachers allowance...”
Mr. Nii Noi also stated the need for all TESCON members to sacrifice and have an enduring heart to achieve victory for the NPP.
“With you all around I believe we will break the eight. The good people of Ghana will retain NPP government because of our good works. Put your energy and strength in this constituency and we will reward you because NPP reward hard work.
Get us the numbers get us the people and help us break the 8”, he said.
Chief Executive Officer of the Coastal Development Authority, Jerry Ahmed Shaib also advised the youth to ignore former President Mahama’s promises and champion President Akufo Addo’s works to every student on campus.
If you prefer the return of domso let’s welcome Mahama’s empty promises back. John Mahama is not the option.”
He also urged them to vote for Nii Noi Nortey when nomination is open.
“In 2024 lookout for those who are vibrant, those you see relationships in them, affable and reliable. We’re looking for candidate who will do the talk, who will give us power and snatch this seat from the NDC. Look out for the right candidate.

If no driver in Ghana has complained about payment of road tolls, one morning a minister for roads and highways wakes up to suspend payment of road tolls. Ask yourself again how much did Ghana get from that road toll. 70 million for the whole year and you are happy with it. I think you are part of those benefits from this road toll. Yes government decides to impose a levy called E-levy which can be avoided legally. If you don't send money electronically you don't pay E-levy like you saying but those people will pay the money will go to government, not your pocket. Minister of Road and highways didn’t say it anywhere that he will use E-levy money for road projects. You, John Mahama and NDC are totally desperate and power drinker. This government is re-introducing the same road toll for electric not you and NDC people to benefit from it. They want all the road toll money go to government not come to you as Dan, John Mahama and NDC people. Because all the money go to you Dan, John Mahama and NDC people. How can this road toll gives government just 70 million a year and you support as good citizen of Ghana. We are facing the same problem in Canada. High cost of food price. Rent increased more than doubled. Everything also increased. Road toll in Ghana was giving the whole country 70 million cedis a year? Where’s the money. People stealing this road toll money and you are happy for it. Road toll will be electronic gate and all the money will go to Ghana government not individual pockets. If you are benefiting from it, you will not benefit from it again, go find something to do. A lot of Ghanaian already know Mahama and he can’t win any election in Ghana again. He done his work. He will big loose. Look at NDC how they went to court to challenge the election. That’s how they will rule Ghana if they win 2025. NDC and Mahama have nothing better for Ghanaians period. The money they borrowed when they were in power cost Ghanaians. They borrowed over 120 billion cedis when dollar is raising that 120 billion also is raising. When NDC in power dollar was 1 to 5 and now dollar is 1to 12 so if dollar is 1 to 5 and you borrowed 120 billion and now dollar is 1 to 12 the 120 billion you borrowed is not the same 120 billion it will raised up. If you are a driver in Ghana you cannot avoid payment of tolls as long as you travel. Now government decides to impose a levy called E-levy which can be avoided legally. If i don't send money electronically i don't pay E-levy. This same minister for roads is now banking his hopes on E-levy which can be avoided legally to fund road projects as against road tolls which cannot be avoided. How can one defend this? How? Today same government is reintroducing road tolls after long vehicles from land logged Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger have come in to damage our roads for free. As we speak these 3 countries i.e. Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger are more economically stable than Ghana. These 3 countries have not hijacked their elderly people's savings to qualify for an IMF bailout, fuel is cheaper in Burkina Faso compared to Ghana currently. Between Ghana and these countries who should be offering road tolls free to the other under the current mess in which Ghana finds itself?
