Seasoned Journalist, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. has wished for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) not to hold a Super Delegates Congress.
Ten candidates have so far expressed interest in contesting the flagbearer position of the NPP.
The party is therefore to hold a Super Delegates Congress to elect five out of the 10 Presidential aspirants who will then go into the main congress for a candidate to be elected to lead the party.
Kwesi Pratt opined that holding the Super Delegates Congress will exert huge financial pressure on the NPP, so asking the party to find a way to have one congress.
"If the Super Delegates Congress doesn't come off, it will benefit the party a lot. First, if they hold one congress to elect their flagbearer, it will save them money," he said during Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo'.
Further analyzing the congress, Mr. Pratt stated that, "it is possible that by the end of the elections, five candidates will gain the votes that will make them qualified to go for the next stage, but it is possible that the person who will be sixth, if he goes for the general congress; he will do better than the five ahead".
"It is possible that, as they are going for the Super Delegates Congress, one candidate can get 45%, the next person could get maybe 30% and so on but during the main congress, the person who is second will come first with a huge margin," he added.
He advised the NPP to "put their things in order so that there will be a true reflection of popular support, grass root support and so on for the candidate who will emerge victor".
