Kumasi Mayor, Sam Pyne has slammed the Speaker, Alban Bagbin, for refusing to recognize the ruling by the Supreme Court to stay his declaration of some seats vacant in the House.
The Speaker had applied to the Supreme Court after refusing to oblige by the verdict to vacate their decision but the court quashed the Speaker's application as well.
Parliament has been suspended indefinitely again after reconvening Thursday morning.
This was as a result of the the New Patriotic Party Members of Parliament boycotting the House for a second time while the Minority Caucus once again occupied the majority chamber.
Sam Pyne, contributing to Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" show, expressed disappointment in the Speaker wondering why he has hardened his heart to do what he termed as the right thing.
He noted that the Speaker even as "Number 3" in the nation wants people including the President to respect him but he wouldn't respect the Supreme Court and Chief Justice who is also the Head of the Judiciary.
He condemned the behaviour of Rt. Hon. Bagbin, stressing "respect the Supreme Court and the Executive. If he was a President, he would expect to be accorded the maximum respect".
