Delay And Actors Guild President Clash

The powers that be are at work clashing heavily in the industry and one of such clashes was exhibited last Saturday August 31, 2013 at the Erata Hotel when executive producer Deloris Frimpong Manso decided to hold her audition to select the new face of Afia Schwarzeneger.

After finalizing on the decision to charge Ghc. 30 from the wannabees, little did she know that Actors Guild President Mr. Samuel Nii Odoi Mensah was not going to be happy with her decision therefore the caution to put a stop to what they (actors guild) see as a fraud of a sort. Delay ignored Mr Odoi Mensah`s �threats� and decided to hold that well publicized audition whether rain, fire or brimstone. True to her words, the event happened but without the necessary threat by actors guild task force to put a stop to it.

It can be recalled that when the first caution came from the quarters of actors guild, we read in the news that Delay was quoted to have said she is ready for Mr Odoi Mensah and his team, adding that she was really prepared for them.

Not to make him look like a coward in the face of happenings in the media, Mr Samuel Nii Odoi Mensah organized his task force to Erata hotel last Saturday to stop Delay from going on with the audition. Unfortunately for Mr Odoi, that did not materialize because Delay had also armed herself with security people in advance to forestall any oppression which might come from any institution or individual.

Reports Flex newspaper gathered by our correspondent was that immediately Mr Odoi Mensah`s task force got to the scene to ask pertinent questions on what was happening, another security team came from nowhere and prevented them from executing their task. Right now, it is clear that Delay`s forces were more powerful than the actors guild forces, therefore the audition was held peacefully without any obstructions of a sort from anybody.

Whilst in the studios of Hot fm during their Klassik Entertainment review programme, Mr Odoi Mensah was called to answer questions on why they allowed Delay to hold the auditions and he responded this way.

�Yes, we wanted the right thing to be done but when our task force got to the scene, Delay had reported that they were there to beat her for holding the audition so they were restricted to enter. At the moment, we have reported the case to the right authorities and we will let the law take its right course when the time is due� Mr Odoi Mensah told Nana Yaw Darko of Hot fm.
