Come Saturday October 3, Citizen Kofi will be the venue of an extraordinary concert dubbed: “Road To MAMA Party”.
Select artistes billed to perform at the event include Samini, Sarkodie, R2Bees, Richie, and Mo’Hitz Records’ Wande Coal (Bumper to Bumper).
Although Ghana isn’t really in contention for any major awards yet again in the MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAs), the country is not going to be left out of the experience entirely. Ghana still stands the chance of grabbing some laurels in Nairobi on October 10.
Samini, for the second year running, has been nominated in the Best Performer category. Again he faces stiff competition from some of Africa’s best including P-Square, D’Banj, Nameless, and Blu 3.

The 2009 MTV Africa Music Awards with Zain includes performances by Wyclef Jean, AY, Lira, Blu 3, Fally Ipupa, Wahu, Samini, Da L.E.S, M.I, and Lizha James. Additional performers and guest presenters will be announced in the coming weeks.
