An event and music promoter in Kumasi,Maria Acheampong wife of legendary Ghanaian Highlife musician Nana Acheampong,has lamented what she describes as betrayal from a popular radio figure in the Kumasi Metropolis whom she hitherto considered as a brother.
She has also cited the management of Miklin Hotel,Kumasi as having dealt with her unfairly, with respect to her planned show for Dec24,a situation that had left her emotionally unstable.
Narrating her ordeal to event publicist and blogger Kwabena Agyeman-Kobia,the music distributor said ,She had an agreement early this year,with Yaw Awudu Dompreh,nicknamed ‘Y.A.D’ of Angel FM, to secure the Miklin Hotel premises for her December 24 Highlife show,a venture she had invested so much into, only to realize the radio presenter she had entrusted to represent her,had turned around to snatch the deal for a supposed ‘Daddy Lumba’ concert being organized by his boss,Kwaku Oteng, CEO,Angel Group.
According to Maria,She wept bitterly on realizing that she had been deprived of what she had been working towards all this while,and admitted that events unfolding had compelled her to unwillingly to postpone the show which have highlife artistes such as Dada KD,AB Crentsil,Kofi Nti and others, to New Year’s Day 2012
