If you love home-brewed gospel music, especially the type you can dance to and wave your handkerchief in praise of God and His goodness, then Joyce Yeboah’s eight-track third album titled Onyame Kokroko is the collection to go after.

The United Kingdom-based Ghanaian singer’s album recorded by Nacy and Roland hit the market barely two months ago but the title track is already on the lips of many who feel obliged to join her marvel at the wonderful ways of God.

Joyce’s previous albums were Ohene Bi Ahye Menso (2004) and Debiaa Oye Ade Fofro in (2009). They did not make the sort of impact she expected but the pretty lady who worships with the Church of Pentecost says she has done better home work and is confident that the new songs would push her to the heights she desires.

“I have been amazed at how well songs on the album have been received so far. I was on some local radio stations recently and the number of calls I had that day indicated that my songs are going down well with listeners.”

Born in the Brong Ahafo Region, Joyce said she had virtually not made any money from music yet but was not a problem for because her primary aim is to spread the word of God through music.

“I believe that when you have the calling from God to do gospel music, you don’t have to worry about making money. Changing lives with your music should be the supreme target.”

According to her, though she likes the Onyame Kokroko song very much, many listeners seem to have fallen in love with Debiaa Oye Ade Fofro. Other likeable songs on the album include Megyina Babiraa and Eye Onyame.

Joyce says her biggest wish for now is to see the upcoming general election happen peacefully.
