Award winning Ghanaian songstress, Mrs. Mercy Twum Ampofo Known in Showbiz Circles as Ohemaa Mercy has bemoaned the lack of attention given to Gospel music in Ghana compared to the demands and and acceptance of secular music.
Ohemaa Mercy who spoke to Kapital Radio�s Kofi Amoah Okyere on the Kapital Entertainment Unplugged Show explained it was disheartening to listen to radio throughout the day and observe how secular music has gained more attention and airplay than Gospel music.
Speaking on her life experiences as a musician and the challenges, she said; I have never regretted being a musician despite the challenges that came with it. The prolific singer who has been singing right from her �Sunday school� days.
According to her, music is the best thing that ever happened to her as it helped change her life looking . Growing up in the church of Pentecost, Koforidua with legendary Gospel musician Elder Mireku, Ohemaa disclosed her great inspiration came from God and The Daughters of Glorious Jesus.
Ohemaa Mercy has won several awards and honors both national and international, including a grand medal honor from former President J.A Kufour.
