A popular Europe-based Ghanaian musician, Henry De- Mensah, popularly known as Nana Quame, has announced his presence again on the music scene with his hit single titled ‘Akye’, featuring dancehall icon, Samini.

The hit single has danceable and soul-touching danceable beat which would surely keep music lovers on their dancing feet for hours. Cleverly, Nana Quame brings in the Samini fever which he perfectly laces into his catchy chorus as the two pitch the song on an X-rated level while well-glued on Kaywa’s master beat.

A number of music stakeholders who had the opportunity to listen to the song have rated it among the best songs to be produced in the country.

Nana’s fame in Ghana’s music industry is common to the ordinary Ghanaian; however, his latest hit single is a presentation of great lyrical contents.

As one of Ghana’s young enterprising highlife musicians, Nana Quame’s songs made a huge impact on the Ghanaian music scene early 2000, with hit songs such as ‘Atia Donkor’, ‘Awo Di Me’, ‘Julie’ and others.

Nana Quame’s success story began in early mid 90s when he featured in various hits like ‘Ma Asan Aba’ by Akyeame, ‘Philomena’ by Tic Tac as well as the mega hit, ‘Tom & Jerry’ by Kojo Antwi, among others.

His ‘Odo Shock’ song, which was a hit, took him to another level. He mounted stages alongside big artistes in Ghana and UK.

Nana Quame, born on February 22, 1978, has to his credit successful shows such as Loud In Accra 2000, he was the first Ghanaian to perform at the Carnival 2000 in UK and Ghana Independence Day Celebration UK, Miss Ghana 2001(Ghana), Africa Durb(UK) and Miss Ghana New York.

In 2001, Nana Quame’s his third album titled ‘Fakye’ won the 2002 Ghana Music Award for Original Song of the Year.

In 2002, he followed with another album titled ‘Nana Quame’ released under his record label NQ Records. He won the Best Male Vocalist for the year 2003. In 2007, he released another album, ‘Asew’ which enjoyed massive airplay as well several Ghana Music Award nominations.
