Actress Lydia Forson has called for those involved in the lynching and killing of a police officer to be arrested and made to pay for their crime.
Commenting on the hot button issue of the moment, Forson said justice must be served up for Capt Mahama, who due to the mob injustice, has left behind a family of a wife and two children.
Forson, who knew the victim, said she was in tears as she wrote her piece. She strongly condemned mob justice, calling those involved murderers who must be brought to book. Capt Maxwell Mahama was killed by a mob in Denkyira-Obuasi where he was based, after being suspected of being an armed robber whilst jogging.
The Army has deployed close to three dozen troops to the area to ascertain what exactly happened that led to the death of their man.
Read Forson’s reaction to the unfortunate incident below…
Please read!!! An innocent life was taken away by some residents in the Central Region because they mistook him for an armed robber. They killed this innocent man who was stationed there to serve and protect them because some saw him with a gun and immediately thought he was a thief. They lynched and burnt him alive; I’m even tearing up writing that.
How do people think sometimes? And they were led by their assembly man who didn’t ask for verification nor did he think to send him to the police station if he really thought he was a thief. Just a few days ago he was laughing with his old school mates and having a good time, I was giving them grief for not being invited to the gathering and we all had laughs about it. Now more than ever I wish I’d been there, seeing that it was my last opportunity to see him.
Mob justice must stop! The police and courts are there for this very reason, that an innocent man doesn’t doesn’t suffer the fate of a guilty one. Even if you believe a person to be a thief, what does that make you the murderer? Are we to treat you the same way seeing that your crime is worse?? These people must pay!! He left behind a wife and two young children. #Justice4Adams #MobJusticeMustStop

As far as I dont agree with this MOB Justice but at times it serves it right high for profile people suffer such fates. I dont blame this in our modern Ghana this is because our public institutions are so weak to the extent even with clear evidence, our judges free culprits who have committed various degrees of crime. Look at JB Danquah murder case for example and not talk about DELTA FORCE. You see my sister talk to the public institutions to wake up because if I was to be an ordinary Ghanaian unlike Mahama Adams; who will care about me in such situation. I bet you I always say this though am not God to pass Judgement but 99% of blacks who go to hell as compare to the whites. Aside everything as far the white are not 100% perfect in justice, they do care about their citizens no matter your status but look at we blacks we treat other humans better than other . For me am even waiting for the day some ministers of state and other public institutions will similar fate to see how painful its. Yes we are in a country where the Law is only against the poor people and the rich people are left to go free of their crimes.. Look at the way each and everyone is bashing this act. DO you think if it was be an ordinary Ghanaian it would be a news at all? As far as our leaders dont have respect for the human just because someone is poor they also going to suffer the same fate as an ordinary Ghanaian. So it better they wake up from their sleeping slumber and give Justice to all Ghanaian s or they must expect more than this in the coming years. A poor man just go and steal goat just to be able to get something for his or her living and she is giving a severely punishment, Politician or a public servant or head of public institutions steals millions of cedis and he just relief of his or her duties and walking freely without any punishment after long legal battle, the judge will come out to tell Ghanaians there is no evidence to nail them. Its time some judges in Ghana to suffer similar fate to sit up.

This is heart-breaking to see a human being, a son, a brother,a father and a husband, who's sacrificing for his country as a military officer to be massacred in such a manner by uneducated society for no apparent reason. This is the Ghana I know. Where and when did this jungle justice develop? How far have we become as a country? This is very disturbing and I appeal to authorities to investigate and punish all culprits involved in this heinous act.
When for so long public education and the welfare of the people asre ignored, the society breeds monsters who would terrorise the people, The people in their ignorance would fight back. In their effot, so many mis-steps will be taken. This is such of those action. No one must be punished... it is the fault of the leadership. Communities would not attakc strangers without suspecion. This is a warning. If steps are not taken to rectify our social systems and structure, we will witness horror incidents than this....
The stories being told by the town folks is a concocted lie. An armed robber in broad day light?? Even if you suspect someone who is carrying a gun, just disarm him and send him to the police station. Pure ignorance and illiteracy. i am so so sad. This is barbaric...............hmmmmm
Soldiers should act very quickly, action ! more action should happen now. Eh , where are abongo boys go there to discipline everybody either old or young.Go out in numbers and action those bad guys and the assemble man should not be spear at all.
Am yet to see an armed robber working alone and especially in the morning after an armed robbery attack the previous day. At least people should think before they act. It a sad day in Ghana
I am sorry but your prognosis the situation is wrong. The underlying issues are the impunity of armed robbery and occultism. The people entrusted with taking care of the citizenry (law enforcement and politicians) are in bed with our adversaries. And so the people will have to defend themselves but almost often they end up having it wrong. The mob action is unfortunate but root causes of such actions needs to be tackled. These are some the fruits of compromising, lying back, and occult meddling and see armed robbery the flourish under our watch.
