Highlife and Afrobeat musician, King Promise has responded to his critics after winning the "Album of the Year" at the 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards that happened at the Grand Arena, Accra International Conference Center.
King Promise, who was in the category with the sensational musician Black Sherif and other nominees, took home the award amidst mixed feelings from some patrons to the event and music lovers across the country.
Some people felt Black Sherif deserved the award.
The "Terminator" hit maker, appearing on UTV's "United Showbiz" on Saturday, opened up on how he feels about the criticisms surrounding him receiving the award.
According to him, he is unperturbed and that every person is entitled to his or her opinions.
However, he believed he worked exceptionally hard to grab the award and was grateful to his fans and those voted for him to win on the night.
"It's my time to shine. I embrace it", he stated.
