This year's Ecobank Ghana Limited Golf Championship tees off at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday, January 16.
Mr Kwabena Oteng-Aboagye, General Manager of the Achimota Golf Club who disclosed this to GNA Sports in Accra on Monday, said about 120 golfers are expected to participate in the one-day 18-Hole Stable-ford competition.
He said the competition which would be the first major event of the year, would be played in accordance with the rules of the Club.
Mr Oteng-Aboagye said entry requirement for the competition in the Men's segment is Handicap 18 while the Ladies has been pegged at Handicap 27.
Among an array of golfers expected to participate in the event are Vincent Coffie, Nana Adjei Duku, Frank Adu, Jeff Abeasi, Francis Andoh and M. Obeng-Appiah, all of the Achimota Golf Club.
The Tema team which would be led by their captain Kweku Okyere would include Paul Owusu-Baah, William Asiedu-Yeboah, Alex Fiagomey and Felix Owusu-Adjapong.
Seven prizes would be awarded in the Men's category while five would be given out in the Ladies event.
There would also be prizes for 'The Longest Drive on Hole 17' and 'Nearest to the Pin on Hole 17'.
Officials of the Bank, the only corporate body that sponsors golf twice in a year are expected to grace the occasion.
