The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has formed a three-member committee to determine the Premier League Boards (PLB) Football Journalists of the Year.
The committee is made of Mr Joe Aggrey former Editor of Graphic Sports and former Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Sports, Ackah Anthony, President of SWAG and Mathias Tibu, Assistant Registrar, Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) and Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA).
The formation of the committee follows a request by the PLB to the Association to nominate the Football Journalist of the Year (2008/9) Soccer season for the 5th PLB Awards.
A statement signed by William Ezah, acting General Secretary of SWAG said, the committee will use the criteria outlined by the PLB as well as general journalism standards to determine the selection of the PLB Football Journalist of the Year.
It said all sports journalists interested in participating are to submit three copies of their works to the SWAG secretariat at the meeting. The statement said the contest is open to all sports journalists in the country and urged members to participate to get a worthy representative.
