Ghana Light flyweight Sulemanu Tetteh says he has picked up valuable lessons from the Olympic Games after he was beaten 20:6 by reigning North American champion boxer Ortiz Marcano in a round of 32 bout at the ExCel in London on Tuesday, 31st July, 2012.
Sulemanu, 20, was visibly overwhelmed by the reigning North American champion who opened a 7 point lead at the end of the first round before the judges scored the second and third rounds 6:2 and 6:3 in favour of Ortiz.
Speaking to www.liquidsportsghana.com, Sulemanu Tetteh said he tried his best to fight his opponent but did not succeed.
I have experienced something from a champion, Sulemanu said adding that I will go back and prepare very well so I will know how to fight with a champion next time.
The 2012 ECOWAS Games Gold medalist added, My opponent is a good boxer but I tried to fight with him. I did my best but he is a more experienced boxer,
When I heard the result (at the end of the first round), it pained me, but I tried to come back in the second round but I could not.
The Wisdom Boxing Gym pugilist also said, even if you watched the fight you will see that I was trying to get back but it was difficult.
