Ghana Under-20 captain Andre Dede Ayew failed to impress officials of German Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin and was denied a contract after playing in the club's final pre-season friendly last night against FC Lubars.
The 19-year-old scored two goals in his 45 minutes stay on the pitch as the Bundesliga side beat the amateur side 23-0.
Dede will have to revert to French side Olympique Marseille and train with them until he is found a new club. The Black Satellites captain has been told to look for opportunities elsewhere after coach Didier Deschamps declared him surplus to requirements. Marseille are seeking an outright buyer for the player even though Hertha would want to monitor him for one year. Ayew has a contract with Marseille until 2011.
