Asante Kotoko striker Ahmed Toure has emerged as a major doubt for the weekend’s top of the table clash with Hearts of Oak, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.
The 24-year-old has suffered an injury on Tuesday but club officials are tight-lipped on the details and extent of the said injury.
“I am unable to give details of the situation at this point until the club’s medical team furnishes us with a thorough assessment of the player but yes there is a problem,” Kotoko’s Public and Supporters Relations manager Listowel Yesu Bukarson told GHANAsoccernet.com.
Though Toure’s injury is not yet known, GHANAsoccernet.com checks reveal it is serious enough to rule him out of Sunday’s big Ghana derby.
A statement to that effect is expected from the club in a few hours.
