Hearts of Oak will be without midfielder Esme Mends when they take on rivals Asante Kotoko in the big Ghanaian derby this weekend.
The 25-year-old requires an additional five weeks to make a full recovery from a knee injury he picked up in Hearts’ opening league fixture with Berekum Arsenals.
The player was spotted in the stands during the Hearts’ 2-1 loss to Nigeria club Enugu Rangers to climax the club’s centenary celebrations.
