Ghana midfielder Andre Ayew has stated his desire of staying at Marseille to be captain of the former European champions.
The 22-year-old has been linked with several top clubs in Europe including Arsenal and Bayern Munich.
But the talented winger says he wants to stay at the club he started his career to lead the team in future.
“They are the same as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea: the ultimate aspiration. But we must proceed step by step and I am not yet focused on that.
“I dreamed of playing first team football at Marseille and already it is immense. I want to be captain and win the championship of France.”
Ayew’s recent contract extension saw him double his salary and also increased his release clause which stood at a rather low 13million euro (£10.9million).
