The father of Asante Kotoko midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei has gone missing for the past five days, GHANASoccernet.com can confirm.
Nii Adjei’s dad whose name has been withheld left home on Thursday unannounced and has since not returned.
Conscious efforts have since been made by the family to keep this information under wraps while the search was mounted on the quiet especially with his 23-year-old son’s heavy involvement in the big Ghanaian derby.
Despite the unfortunate development, Nii Adjei was at his efficient best to help Kotoko post a memorable 2-1 win over arch rivals Hearts of Oak on Sunday.
The win further strengthens Kotoko’s hold on top spot as they march to an unprecedented 22nd league triumph.
Meanwhile, the Adjei family will meet on Monday to discuss possibilities of going public to help find their missing relative.
