The Editor-In-Chief of the Insight newspaper, Kwasi Pratt Jnr., has urged the Black Stars to avoid the “unnecessary mistakes and stylish” play in the AFCON tournament in order to reach the final stage of the competition.
Commenting on Peace FM’s “kokrokoo” programme a day after the Stars beat Niger by three goals to nil, he admitted that the team spirit exhibited by the Black Stars players was an improvement on previous matches.
Kwesi Pratt added that, the Black Stars could have scored 5 or 6 goals if not for some "petty mistakes and stylish play" on the part of some players.
He also cautioned the players to be wary in their next game at the quarter finals against Cape Verde.
Commending the awesome performance of the coach, James Kwasi Appiah, for the display of tactical ability and experience against the Nigeriens, he also added that Kwesi Appiah’s performance has proven beyond doubt that a black coach was equally capable of handling a national assignment.
He, however, believed they could have done better against the Nigeriens.
