English Premier League side Sunderland have enquired about the availability Hearts of Oak striker Mahatma Otoo, according to reports in the local media.
Sunderland scouts are impressed with the performance of the 21-year-old who has been handed a debut Ghana call-up for the 2014 World Cup qualifier against Sudan next weekend.
The Black Cats have reportedly contacted their Ghanaian partners, Asante Kotoko, about the availability of the striker who has bagged 8 goals in the Ghanaian Premier League.
Reports in the local media claim Kotoko officials have already made contacts with their arch-rivals about the availability of the former Ghana U23 striker as they have a reciprocal relationship with Sunderland.
Mahatma would move to the Stadium of Light as trialist if negotiations go through.
Mahatma had an unsuccessful spell with Tunisian side Esperance Sportive de Tunis in 2010.
