The title destination will be decided on the final day of the season after both Asante Kotoko and Berekum Chelsea won their penultimate matches.
Kotoko, chasing a successful title defence defeated AshantiGold 2-1 in the derby played at the Essipon Stadium as the Porcupine Warriors serve a temporary home ban from playing at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Ransford Osei put Kotoko in front after 11 minutes before Mohammed Latif equalised for the Miners before the break.
Six minutes into the start of the second half, Michael Akuffu scored to restore Kotoko's lead.
The Miners could not rally back with another equaliser as their rivals won the match.
At the Golden City Park, a second minute penalty by Landry Bosson helped Chelsea to a 1-0 win over Aduana Stars.
Both Kotoko and Chelsea have tricky away fixtures on the final day of the campaign on June 23.
Kotoko will visit the Tema Stadium where they play Amidaus Professionals while Chelsea travel to the Kpando Park to face Heart of Lions, who need a point to avert relegation.
