A survey found that while the names Lionel and Cristiano are not uncommon, they are nowhere near as popular as that of the Brazil superstar.
In 17 years' time, most adult males living in La Paz will be called Neymar, according to the findings of the city's civil registry office.
As reported by local newspaper La Razon, 20 out of every 100 babies born in the Bolivian capital are named after the Barcelona attacker, who has captured the imagination of football fans the world over this summer with his stellar showings for the Selecao in their stirring Confederations Cup triumph.
"We believe that in 17 years most adult males will be called Neymar because that is the current trend," civil registry office representative Remigio Condori stated. "It is the name in fashion right now."
Neymar, who has joined Barcelona in a �57 million deal, scored two goals in Brazil's 4-0 win over Bolivia in April of this year and struck four times in the Confederations Cup, including a stunning effort in the 3-0 final victory over Spain.
