Zambians superstitious coach Herve Renard says he will wear his juju white shirt only in World Cup qualifiers as they prepare to face Ghana in a crucial 2014 World Cup qualifier in September.
The Frenchman raised eyebrows at the ongoing COSAFA Cup tournament in Zambia after ditching the apparel that many regard to have helped him to win the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations even though they were underdogs.
Chipolopolo fans were worried to have seen their superstitious coach without his white shirt at the Southern African regional football tournament.
But the Frenchman says he will be wearing his magic white shirt during FIFA-recognised matches.
The white shirt is for the FIFA games and not COSAFA, he said.
The 44-year-old coach was clad in a green T-shirt on Sunday.
Ghana will play Zambia in a crucial World Cup qualifier in Kumasi on 6 September.
