Zambia coach Herve Renard has served notice he is going to walk his talk on Friday as his side clashes with Ghana in a 2014 World Cup group decider.
Renard said even though the Chipolopolo have been dealt a devastating blow as strikers Collins Mbesuma and Jacob Mulenga have been ruled out of the game through injury, they are more than poised to “silence Ghana.”
“A lot of people say I talk too much, but I’ll prove what I have been saying on the pitch on Friday,” Renard told Goal Ghana before enplaning to Ghana on Wednesday.
“We’ll let Ghana go dead silent on Friday at their own backyard. It’s a matter of self believe and we are more than ready for this game. We are not taking chances and nothing is going to stop us from progressing.”
The Frenchman admitted beating the four-time African champions will be an uphill task, but just as they were ruled out in 2012 when they won the African Cup for the first time, they “will pull a big surprise in Ghana.”
The Black Stars are on top of the group with a point ahead of the Chipolopolo and a draw will see them at the play-off stage of the qualifiers.
