It could be Christmas come early for supporters who leave the Accra Sports Stadium victorious on Sunday when Hearts of Oak host perennial rivals, Asante Kotoko in the Premier League week two clash.
The Super Clash, as termed the meeting is set to ignite the Premiership if the pre-match antics, talk and actions are anything to go by. Matches involving both teams have always been laced with tension, superstition, accusations and counter accusations and Sunday's is not expected to be any different.
Both Hearts and Kotoko were winners on match day one of the Premiership and the three points on Sunday could earn the victor a bragging right that could last as long as it takes for the return leg to arrive.
Last season, both meetings ended in draws and knowing games involving the two most glamorous clubs are always devoid of current forms and player quality, it is fair to envisage an uncompromising duel if the personnel to be deployed are anything to go by.
With Hearts chasing a league trophy in as many years, consider a victory over Kotoko an enough a title if Coach David Duncan and his charges are able to send the Porcupine Warriors back home empty handed.
Kotoko's Mas-Ud Dramani has been quick to tag his team as favourite for all three points and without doubt, with the quality in the likes of Yahaya Mohammed, Jordan Opoku, Micheal Akuffou and the likes, it is almost acceptable for a coach to feel such a measure of confidence.
The stage is set for a fight fit for the football gods; and with an expectant crowd to chant the day and minutes away, it will not be far fetched to call the Accra Sports Stadium the place to be on Sunday.
