After seeing his side edge hosts Canada to victory in their FIFA U-20 Womens World Cup campaign, Ghana coach Bashir Hayford remains upbeat about his team's chances.
Ghana claimed all three points in the Group A match on Tuesday with Sherifatu Sumaila scoring to hand the Black Princesses a 1-0 win.
Hayford has hailed his team after beating the Young Canucks but insists the victory was well earned.
"It was a good game, I appreciated all that I've seen tonight. And at the end of the day, the best team won," said Hayford in Toronto.
"We already learnt our first lesson: in a World Cup, nothing will be easy. We suffered, but we won."
Ghana now come up against Korea DPR, winners of the tournament in 2006 on Friday.
The Koreans lead the standing with a better goal difference after winning 2-1 against Finland.
For Hayford, Ghana will need to advance from the group stage before thinking about the possibility of landing a dream World Cup can be made real.
However, he believes the Black Princesses have the potential to be contenders.
"I had said before the tournament that we had the potential to win the World Cup. I dont know if well do it, but we do see some signs," he said.
"And we sent a signal that were not here for fun - were here for business. If I didnt want to win the World Cup, we wouldnt be here."
