Former Hearts of Oak coach, David Duncan has officially been confirmed as the head coach of Premier League returnees Accra Great Olympics after a memorandum of understanding between the two parties.
The 50-year-old astute Ghanaian tactician will thus be making a return to the “wonder club” after agreeing to sign a two-year contract with the Club.
The former Sekondi Hassacas and Ashanti Gold trainer have been in negotiation with the Club for the past two months and was reported to have completed a deal last month.
However, the former Ghanaian best coach award winner came out to deny the alleged deal claiming he has not signed.
In an interview with Peace FM, board member of Great Olympics, Oluboye Commodore confirmed the former national U-17 coach has signed a two-year contract with the Club.
“Duncan is the head coach of Olympics and his assistant is Kassim Mingo,” he said.
“He signed for two seasons. There was a memorandum of understanding. He brought us the full contract terms and we went through, after which he accepted to work with us, so he is our coach.”
Duncan remains one of the most renowned coaches in Ghana having managed Clubs in the domestic top flight as well as the national U-17 and U-23 teams respectively.
He also coached South African outfit Free State Stars from 2008-2009 where he won the Phakisa Cup by beating Orlando Pirates in the finals.
