Ghana duo Michael Essien and Sulley Muntari started their first Serie A game together this season in a comfortable 1-3 win at Hellas Verona.
Essien, who has not featured much for the Rosonneri due to injury and stiff competition from others in the midfield role finally had his chance, due to Nigel De Jong's suspension.
The 32-year old was brought into the side as expected by Filippo Inzaghi, and did not disappoint, as both he and Muntari ensured that the 'engine room' was run rather nicely.
It is yet to be seen if Essien, and Muntari to some extent will maintain their places in the squad, with De Jong seen as a regular starter in midfield.
Milan strolled to a 1-3 victory thanks to an own goal and a brace from Keisuke Honda. Inzaghi's men find themselves in 4th place now with 14 points.
